LAS VEGAS, Nov. 2, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Hella Inc., the aftermarket division of Hella North America, will showcase a new series of compact, off-road auxiliary headlamps at Booth 22225 at the 2004 SEMA Show (November 2-5) in Las Vegas.
The new Rallye 4000 Compact series lamps were developed by Hella to meet the challenges presented by new, lightweight front-end materials and designs for today's off-road vehicles.
In the quest to shed weight for improved fuel economy, components like bull-bars, a typical location for auxiliary lamps, now are made of lighter-weight materials, making installation of many traditional large driving lamps difficult. Motor homes, which offer a variety of front-end designs, also will benefit from the Rallye 4000 Compact's improved installation options.
Off-road enthusiasts can appreciate the clear-glass design and high-sheen reflector that give the vehicle an unmistakable and striking appearance. Optional CELIS(r) position light guide technology couples the light from two high-performance light-emitting diodes (LEDs) into a plastic prism ring for optimal customization. The light guide is fed by the most powerful LEDs available, resulting in a bright position light that attracts immediate attention and increases safety.
The free-form reflector technology has been carefully designed to ensure the greatest possible light output. The mirror layer is applied in a high vacuum with the purest aluminum. An added protective layer on the reflector, only a few nanometers thick, ensures top headlamp performance over a long service life.
With a diameter of only 6.7 in., Rallye 4000 Compact lamps are 23 percent smaller than Hella's standard Rallye 4000 lamps and are available in both driving and fog lamp versions. The housing, ring and bracket are made from sturdy die-cast zinc.
