VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 4, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Bonaventure Enterprises Inc. (TSX Venture Exchange:BVT) announces the results of trenching and geochemical sampling at its 100% owned Cottonwood Property, located 10 kilometers north of Austin, Nevada, a major silver producing district.
After geologic mapping and rock chip geochemical sampling, two dozer trenches were constructed across an area of gold-bearing float to further define mineralization.
Trench 1 exposes numerous northeast trending shears and occasional quartz-arsenopyrite veins in intrusive rocks near the contact with siliceous sediments. All exposed bedrock was sampled with 6-meter sample lengths. Numerous +0.1 ppm gold values were found in the sampling.
The highest gold values occur in the top portion of the trench. Here, the highest value over 6 meters is 5.41 ppm (0.16 oz/ton) gold. Sampling of two quartz-sulfide veins in this area gave values of 57.1 ppm (1.67 oz/ton) and 23.9 ppm (0.70 oz/ton) across 0.3-meter sample widths.
Trenching will be extended up slope to further define the zone.
Trench 2, located several hundred meters east of Trench 1 and all in intrusive, has occasional north-south to northeast trending quartz-arsenopyrite veins. The intrusive hosted shear zone is not as well defined as in Trench 1. The highest 6-meter sample is 1.06 ppm (0.03 oz/ton) gold and the highest value across a 0.3 meter wide oxidized vein is 6.62 ppm (0.19 oz/ton) gold.

The recently discovered gold at Cottonwood looks similar to arsenopyrite-rich mineralization at Getchell, Nevada (current announced reserves of 3.6 million ounces of gold). After exploration of near-surface targets with additional trenching and possible drilling, Bonaventure intends to explore for deeper carbonate-hosted deposits.
