 StockPickReport Commentary
                          Exit Polls

Did you see the "long faces" Bush supporters sported yesterday around 5PM CST? The "exit polls" painted a clear picture: Kerry would win, and maybe by as much as a 7% margin in the popular vote.

That "news" (the imminent Kerry victory) was, uh, incorrect. The "margin of error" of those "exit polls" is 2% to 5%. Pollsters Tuesday evening used every digit of that "margin of error".

But, folks, that's nothing "new". Remember in 2000 when the media made an incorrect call in Florida's electoral vote? Turns out the media were wrong then, too.

News is funny. Not "ha ha" funny, to be sure. More ironic than humorous. The only "news" of import is "news" you didn't know about or "news" you heard wrong in the first place. In either case, you profit nothing upon the receipt of your "news".

For this reason, we rely on technical analysis to find stocks. You've heard that we like Stochastics, MACD, and RSI as indicators. Our passion for technical analysis is sustained with every incorrect "news" story we see - financial or otherwise.

Stochastics, MACD, and RSI give us a look into the price movements of a stock. That's what is important. Ever hear the adage, "By low, sell high?" (I ask this with a smile on my face...)

We use technical analysis to "buy low," and hopefully, "sell high". When it comes to "news", we steer clear.
