TeliaSonera Launches a Pan-Nordic Phone Conference Service

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Nov. 09, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- TeliaSonera provides a new phone conference service for companies operating in the Nordic countries. The service makes it increasingly easier for participants in different countries to organize a meeting, and at a lower cost. The demand for conferencing services is increasing, as more and more companies operating on the international market want to save travel costs and time.

TeliaSonera's new Nordic phone conference service is targeted at companies that have offices and employees in two or more Nordic countries and organize phone conferences actively. The service allows conferencing in Sweden, Denmark and Norway, as well as in Finland.

The phone conference service can be used around the clock without advance reservation. The participants call a country-specific local conference number, avoiding all extra international call costs. Previously, an international call had to be established to participate in a Nordic phone conference.

"There has been demand for a new phone conference service among our customers that have Nordic operations and want to improve the efficiency of their operations and save travel costs. The facts that companies have employees in different countries and the employees move around a lot on business have aroused increased interest in conferencing services, as they are a simple, quick and cost-efficient way of dealing with meetings. The new phone conference service is part of TeliaSonera's Pan-Nordic offering, by which we want to offer our customers uniform and easy-to-use services irrespective of their location," says Dan Stromberg, responsible for the global customers within TeliaSonera.

The Nordic phone conference service is sold by the name Sonera Meeting Anytime in Finland and Telia Telemote Direkt in Sweden. In the future, more and more countries can be included in the service through local telephone numbers. At the moment, participants from other countries can take part in a Nordic telephone conference by paying a normal international call charge.
