Hayslett Group Wins Three Awards At Georgia Public Relations Association's Premier Awards Competition


ATLANTA, Nov. 12, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Hayslett Group LLC, one of the South's leading independent public relations and communications firms, was honored with three awards Thursday at one of the local public relations industry's premier annual events.

Hayslett Group earned two Phoenix Awards and a Certificate of Excellence at the Georgia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America's annual awards celebration, held at the new InterContinental Hotel in Buckhead. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the awards.

Sponsored by the Georgia Chapter of PRSA, the Phoenix Awards recognize projects and programs that demonstrate excellence in the public relations profession in Georgia.

Category: Editorials/Op-Ed Columns Phoenix Award -- Op-Ed Column, APS Superintendent Beverly L. Hall. The column discussed the choices facing parents in an age of "No Child Left Behind."

Certificate of Excellence -- Op-Ed Column, GACH President Monty M. Veazey. The column defended certificate of need (CON) requirements for hospital construction.

Category: Speeches Phoenix Award - "State of the System" Speech, APS Superintendent Beverly L. Hall. The speech illustrated the accomplishments of the Atlanta school system reform program.

Last month, Hayslett Group received four awards -- a Golden Flame, a Silver Flame and two Bronze Flames -- at the International Association of Business Communicators' annual Atlanta awards gala. No other public relations agency received more Flame awards.
