Telelogic Delivers Eclipse 3.0 Integration for Telelogic SYNERGY/CM

Use of the Industry's Most Advanced Configuration Management Tool with Eclipse is Now Even Easier

MALMO, Sweden and IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 15, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telelogic (Stockholm Exchange:TLOG), the leading global provider of solutions for advanced systems and software development, today announced that it has enhanced support of Telelogic SYNERGY(TM)/CM for Eclipse 3.0. Eclipse is a universal tool integration platform designed for multi-language, multi-platform and multi-vendor use. Through plug-in extensions developed by Telelogic and other tool vendors, it supports and facilitates a wide variety of application development needs.

Industry analyst firms like Yphise and OVUM regard Telelogic SYNERGY as the most advanced on the market for change management (SYNERGY/Change) and configuration management (SYNERGY/CM). With this latest integration and its many valuable enhancements, SYNERGY/CM becomes even more intuitive for developers working with the Eclipse platform.

"As a member of the Eclipse Foundation, Telelogic has long demonstrated its commitment to open development platforms and integration of our best in class solutions," said Ingemar Ljungdahl, chief technology officer at Telelogic. "The enhanced functionality of SYNERGY/CM integrated with Eclipse underlines our responsiveness to the expectations of both the open source community and of our customers who require advanced configuration management functionality, especially for large, globally distributed development teams."

"A key component in the success and widespread adoption of Eclipse is participation from leading tool vendors," said Mike Milinkovich, executive director of Eclipse Foundation. "From the beginning, Telelogic has been closely involved and the company's commitment to the open source community is reflected in the integration of SYNERGY and other Telelogic tools with Eclipse."

New Feature Enhancements

New functionality included in the latest SYNERGY/CM integration with Eclipse includes:

-- Ability to define multiple database connections; each Eclipse project
can now be connected to a different CM database
-- Improved functionality of the repository view by adding "checkout
    project" and "open project" options
-- Ability to specify what CM data is displayed in the Eclipse file
    browser and history view
-- All dialogs are now native to Eclipse, except for the CM graphical
    history
 -- Improved refresh performance

These new features provide Eclipse developers with improved control of their development environment and enable them to work more productively in a team-based environment using the integration. Sharing and reuse of objects among individual users, large teams, and multiple projects also becomes easier.

"We listened to SYNERGY/CM users that work with the Eclipse platform and have included many of their suggestions in this latest integration," said Ljungdahl. "These enhancements make our configuration management solution considerably easier to use in an Eclipse environment and unlock the full value of using SYNERGY/CM and Eclipse together."

Platform support and availability

This latest version of the SYNERGY/CM - Eclipse integration is now available, supporting Eclipse 2.1.3, Eclipse 3.0, and IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer 5.1. Telelogic intends to validate the integration with IBM Rational Application Developer when it is available. The integration is supported on the Windows and RedHat Linux platforms.
