STOXX, Ltd. Changes the Composition of the European Benchmark Indexes

Fourth Regular Quarterly Review to be Effective on December 20, 2004


ZURICH, Nov. 16, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- STOXX, Ltd. today announced changes in the composition of the Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 Index, the Dow Jones STOXX Total Market Index, the Dow Jones STOXX 600 Index and its size and sector indexes, the recently launched Dow Jones EU Enlarged Total Market Index and the Dow Jones STOXX Football Index.

Effective with the open of European markets on December 20, 2004 the following four stocks will be added to the Dow Jones STOXX 600 and its respective size and sector indexes: Cintra Concesiones de Infrae (Spain, Industrial Goods & Services), Antena 3 (Spain, Media), Sika (Switzerland, Construction & Materials) and Phonak (Switzerland, Health Care).

Companies exiting the index are: Altran Techn. (France, Industrial Goods & Services), Epcos (Germany, Industrial Goods & Services), Lastminute.com (Great Britain, Travel & Leisure) and Wella Pref (Germany, Personal & Household Goods).

The market sectors for the following Dow Jones STOXX 600 components will change: Johnson Matthey (Great Britain) from Basic Resources to Chemicals, Umicore (Belgium) from Basic Resources to Chemicals, Sacyr-Vallehermoso (Spain) from Personal & Household Goods to Construction & Materials, and MG Technologies AG (Germany) from Chemicals to Industrial Goods & Services.

The new composition of the Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 Index and the Dow Jones EU Enlarged Total Market Index can be found on www.stoxx.com. The Dow Jones STOXX Football Index will remain unchanged.

As of October 29, 2004 the total free-float market capitalization of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX 600 increased from EUR 4683.20 billion to EUR 4685.12 billion, and of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX Total Market Index from EUR 4904.31 billion to EUR 4912.18 billion. Dow Jones STOXX Football index is EUR 1.07 billion.

The Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 and as well as the recently launched Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged indexes are also part of this regular quarterly review. As of October 29, 2004 the total free-float market capitalization of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 index increased from EUR 15.64 trillion to EUR 15.66 trillion and of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged index from EUR 36.50 billion to EUR 37.82 billion.

Changes are being announced today after the conclusion of a regular quarterly component review. The adjusted component weightings, including the number of shares and free-float factors, will be announced on December 15, 2004 after close of European markets. All changes will be effective on December 20, 2004.
