Vampire's Revenge -- Vampires Start Family While Preparing to Fight Enemy in New Book

BELMONT, N.H., Nov. 17, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- When 24-year-old Mark Cooper returns home one night to find his wife and daughter dead, his life changes forever. In Amanda N. Berry's new novel, Vampire's Revenge (now available through AuthorHouse), Mark becomes a vampire to avenge his family's death.

Luke, a vampire, tells Mark that one of the most powerful of his race, Demon, killed Mark's family. Distraught and desperate, Mark decides to become a vampire to exact revenge. As vampires, Luke and Mark meet Marie and Abigail, who they also transform into vampires. The two couples, Luke and Marie and Mark and Abigail, marry and later have vampire children. Although their happy lives seem secure, they are forced to move each time Luke feels Demon's presence growing closer. They are waiting until they are prepared to strike.

As their children grow, so does their family. An extended family of vampires experiences great joy in new babies and the blood of innocent victims. Things begin to unravel, however, when secrets are revealed. Luke, despite his friendship with Mark, has been harboring information for many years. Other vampires they know are also keeping secrets about Mark's first wife and child.

As the group moves from country to country to evade the all-powerful Demon, an army of vampires led by their enemy is seeking them. Mark, Luke and their friends train to fight, and the expertise of a wizard and "blood soldiers" helps their effort.

Vampire's Revenge is a unique novel that casts these creatures in a new light. Instead of careless monsters, the vampires Berry creates are not only portrayed as beings that place value on love and friendship, but also as beings that are inherently good.

Berry currently lives in New Hampshire.
