Intrepid's Energy Plant Begins Operation

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho, Nov. 23, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Intrepid Technology and Resources, Inc. (ITR) (OTCBB:IESV), a renewable energy company has completed all required testing on their bioreactor located at the Whitesides dairy near Rupert, Idaho and have began the process of loading animal waste from the dairy into the twin 35,000 gallon tanks.

Brad Frazee, ITR Vice President of the Bio-fuel division, stated this morning, "After significant testing of the system using both air and water over the last several weeks, we now have this weekend pre-heated and loaded over 25,000 gallons of animal waste into the anaerobic digesters. We have not encountering any unexpected problems and I anticipate the process will lead to gas production within the six weeks that we previously indicated as the gestation period for the bacteria to become active enough to produce commercial methane gas."

One of the dairy's owners, Steve Whitesides acknowledged, "The system seems to be working efficiently and was obviously well conceived and engineered. We anticipate a smooth transition on our end to the new procedures and have installed our own gas lines to enable us to utilize some of the excess energy from the bioreactor. Obviously, there is interest within the dairy industry to more efficiently manage the animal effluent, which is a normal byproduct of a dairy operation. I believe this system will do that, but should also produce commercial energy. Our dairy has additionally received a call from a United States Senators office to schedule a demonstration of the plant for them next week."

Dr. Dennis Keiser, ITR President, "While the installation process was not without some challenges, the installed system is functioning as we anticipated and I am looking forward to the first gas produced by this bioreactor that will be used for commercial purposes."
