HOUSTON, Nov. 23, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY) today announced that Mark T. Lanctot has been named president and chief executive officer of Sysco Food Services of North Dakota, Inc., a broadline foodservice distribution subsidiary located in Fargo, North Dakota. Mr. Lanctot, who is currently general manager of that company, will assume his new duties effective January 2, 2005.
Mr. Lanctot, 43, has spent his entire 21-year foodservice career at SYSCO, beginning in 1983 as an account executive at Sysco Food Services of Minnesota, Inc., a broadline subsidiary located in St. Paul. In 1984 he became a marketing associate at that company, was promoted to district sales manager in 1988 and progressed to regional sales director in 1992. Mr. Lanctot was named vice president of territory sales in 1996, advanced to vice president of business development in 2002, and the following year was appointed to his current position at the Fargo operation when SYSCO completed construction of the new broadline facility.
Mr. Lanctot was born in St. Paul and raised in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. He is a 1983 graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in business. He and his wife, Linda, have three sons and reside in Horace, North Dakota.
