COSTA MESA, Calif., Nov. 30, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Hector Franco has been appointed vice president of information technology services for RSM EquiCo, a global investment banking firm specializing in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures for the North American private middle market. He previously was director of information technology services for the company.
As vice president of information technology services, Mr. Franco will help advance RSM EquiCo's business and technical infrastructure by managing data networks, telephone equipment, desktop support and technology purchases. He will also focus on strategically choosing and guiding the implementation of new technologies.
"Over the last four years Hector has played an integral role in organizing and managing RSM EquiCo's technology to maintain pace with the company's rapid growth," said Tim Gannaway, chief information officer. "He has been a driving force behind all of the firm's technological advancements."
Mr. Franco joined RSM EquiCo in April of 2000 as a systems analyst/desktop support professional. He was subsequently promoted to information technology manager and later to director of information technology services. Throughout this time, Hector contributed significantly to the development of a sophisticated network and innovative enterprise systems.
Before joining RSM EquiCo Mr. Franco worked as a teacher in Guadalajara, Mexico. He taught analytic geometry and trigonometry at the Tecnologico de Monterrey, a private non-profit nationwide university system.
A former entrepreneur, Hector established a pizzeria in Guadalajara at a young age. The business eventually expanded to include three franchises.
Mr. Franco received a bachelor's degree in information technology from the University of Guadalajara. The limited opportunities for an information technology professional in Guadalajara inspired Mr. Franco in 2000 to move to the United States, where he was born, to pursue a career in this field.
