HERNDON, Va., Dec. 6, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide information technology services that will help the department improve its operations.
As part of the contract, Northrop Grumman will provide a full range of information technology (IT) support services, which span the entire systems-development life cycle. Tasks include joint applications development, cost-benefit analysis, business process re-engineering, systems and information engineering, systems and database design, systems development and testing, systems enhancement, support and maintenance, user training, web development, information security, telecommunications systems, networking, data warehousing and data mining, information systems, and other IT services.
Northrop Grumman's Information Technology sector and 11 other companies will compete for task orders valued up to $980 million. This IDIQ contract has one base year and six one-year options with an option to extend to an additional five months after the sixth option year.

"This contract will provide the department with the full scope of information technology and related support services ranging from integrated systems design and implementation, to help desk and telecommunications support."
Work on the contract will be performed in Washington, D.C. and other department locations.
