Food Safe International -- Apollo Scientific Group Announce Collaboration on Food Safety Ozone Equipment

The Government Announced New Rules Monday Aimed at Helping Trace the Source of Food Contamination, Particularly in the Event of A Bioterror Attack on the Food Supply

TORONTO, Dec. 8, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Food Safe International, Inc. (Pink Sheets:FSIJ) soon to be renamed Apollo Scientific Group, announced today that they are preparing to counter the threat of food contamination and the ever-increasing risk of bio-terrorism. The assurance of an adequate food supply, the availability of sufficient nutrient density, and the prevention of food-borne illness can all be critical to the survival of large sections of the population. Food Safe International, Inc. -- Apollo Scientific Group believes that appropriate food safety measures need to be in place during production, harvesting, processing, and distribution, as well as at the point of consumption.

Food Safe International, Inc. -- Apollo Scientific Group's primary goal is to begin to market its services and establish working relationships with government agencies in order to provide food safety services in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, Russia and Ukraine.

FSIJ's new CEO, Mr. Zabolotsky stated, "We are very pleased to continue the progress with Jason Wong and FSIJ and begin to work with Food Safety International, LLC on ensuring the safety and availability of the world's food supply and to facilitate international trade, while appropriately safeguarding each countries' interests with FSIJ's Food Safe products. Collaboration with Food Safety International's ozone food sanitation process may ensure safe meats, fruits & vegetables will reach millions of consumers around the world."

CNN.com stated on Monday December 6, 2004, "Food manufacturers and others who work in the nation's human and animal food supply will have to keep records showing where they received food and where they shipped it next. The idea behind the rules, announced by the Food and Drug Administration, is to help investigators figure out where in a long chain of supply a particular item of food may been tainted..The new rules affect anyone who manufacturers, processes, packs, transports, distributes, receives, holds or imports food. Officials at every step must keep records showing the chain of supply, including the immediate previous source of all food received and the next recipient of all food released. 'These records will be crucial for FDA to deal effectively with food-related emergencies, such as deliberate contamination of food by terrorists,' said a statement from acting FDA Commissioner Dr. Lester Crawford. The regulation is the fourth in a series of FDA rules implementing the 2002 bioterrorism law. Previous regulations required food facilities to register with the FDA and required those exporting food to the United States give American inspectors advance notice before shipments arrive."
