Buffalo Technology Signs Distribution Agreement With Ingram Micro

The Agreement Allows Buffalo To Expand Its Presence In The Channel and Provides Its Channel Partners With the Tools to Enhance Their Product Offering and Boost Profitability

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 13, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of wired and wireless networking and storage and memory solutions, today announced it has signed a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) - the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services.

Under the agreement, Ingram Micro will distribute Buffalo's wide range of wireless networking and storage solutions to resellers in United States, Canada, South America and Latin America. The products include award-winning wireless routers, such as the AirStation Wireless Secure Remote Gateway (WZR-RS-G54). This wireless router for the consumer and small business markets enables users to conveniently and securely access e-mail, files, programs and network resources while on the road. Buffalo's line of AirStation G54 and 125 High Speed wireless products include Buffalo's patent-pending AirStation One-Touch Secure System(tm) (AOSS) technology, which allows users to create a high-speed secure wireless connection with a push of a button and a click of the mouse. AOSS automatically detects and configures other AOSS-enabled wireless devices and clients and seamlessly creates secure connections.

Ingram Micro will also distribute storage solutions by Buffalo such as the LinkStation Network Storage Center. The LinkStation is designed for home and business users to store and share data and media files such as videos, photos and music from multiple PC or Macintosh computers over their network. The agreement includes other wireless networking and storage solutions by Buffalo, such as the AirStation line of 802.11g wireless client adapters, range-extending antennas, repeaters and the DriveStation series of storage hard drives.

"By partnering with Ingram Micro, Buffalo Technology has further solidified its commitment to the channel," said Stephen Dix, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Buffalo Technology. "Through Ingram Micro, Buffalo Technology will be able to offer our award-winning wireless networking and storage solutions to more partners than ever before."

The agreement with Ingram Micro demonstrates Buffalo's dedication to the channel. It also allows the manufacturer to leverage the distributor's channel expertise and to offer programs that contribute to channel partners' success. Buffalo offers its solution provider partners a flexible, two-tiered program. The program includes sales training, marketing support, technical support and partner discounts. Through its relationship with Ingram Micro, Buffalo will provide resellers with a way to expand their product offering and boost their profitability.

"Buffalo has a solid reputation for bringing to market innovative, high-performance and cost-effective solutions. We welcome the opportunity to partner with pioneering technology companies such as Buffalo," said Lori Snow, vice president, category management, Ingram Micro U.S. "Our solution providers seek product lines that enhance their portfolio and increase margins.
