BEIJING, Dec. 13, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- A team of top executives from China Direct Trading Corporation (OTCBB:CHDT) arrived today in Beijing, China to pursue negotiations on a range of projects that could project China Direct as a major player in U.S.-China trade.
The first project under negotiation is the development of the China Mart concept. Several states have expressed an interest in hosting the China Mart, and terms and conditions for company and product coverage, trade and investment incentives, and availability of visas for Chinese personnel will be discussed with officials from China's State Council and Ministry of Foreign Commerce (MOFCOM).
The second project involves Beijing Huawei Furniture Company. China Direct is the exclusive U.S. distributor for Beijing Huawei Furniture, and has obtained its first large customer. Product samples are on the way to China so the company can negotiate pricing and then ensure that their approval samples are made correctly, the first time. "At China Direct we don't just send orders to our factories, we go to our suppliers to ensure that orders are processed with the highest quality standards at the lowest possible price. Most of this trip will involve negotiating pricing for our U.S. customers," said Howard Ullman, Chairman and CEO of China Direct Trading Corp.
The third focus of the trip will be commodity transactions. CHDT has Letters of Intent in hand for Metallurgical Coke from a US buyer to purchase from coking plants in China. The company will also be sourcing steel pipe, and cigarettes, for other customers. China Direct is negotiating on the export of coal from the United States to China as well as iron ore from Brazil. In all cases the company has buyers and suppliers and now is negotiating price.
"Success breeds success, and we are now receiving orders from all over the world for products from China," said Howard Ullman, Chairman and CEO of China Direct, who is directing the China Direct team this week in Beijing. "We are seeking orderly growth and the development of in-house expertise in many different areas that will allow us to process the flood-tide of orders that we are receiving," Ullman said.
