The Ascent(R) FFS-X(TM) is a line of technologically advanced Full Flight Simulators designed to become the next advancement in flight training solutions. The Ascent(R) FFS-X(TM) simulators reduce overall cost of ownership, maximize reliability and ensure ease of maintenance. The FFS-X(TM) models have been manufactured and tested to provide training in full compliance with regulations under FAA, JAA and ICAO. Mechtronix' "intelligent machine" technology is deployed in the simulator and offers the company's unique blend of machine robotics, electronics, and software intelligence, enabling it to provide sophisticated simulator solutions at significantly lower prices.

"CAFUC and Mechtronix' cooperation begins with a good solid foundation. With the quality products and innovations of Mechtronix, the partnership between us shall be further strengthened," said Executive Vice President Li Shuwen of CAFUC.

"The Ascent(R) FFS-X(TM) family offers a fresh perspective to a changing industry and positions Mechtronix at the forefront of next-generation flight training solutions," said Fernando Petruzziello, President and CEO of Mechtronix Systems.

About the Ascent FFS-X

The Mechtronix Ascent(R) FFS-X(TM) simulator is changing the flight training industry by providing an innovative way to meet the training objectives of airlines. Training objectives are defined by international aviation regulations. To be first allowed to fly a specific airplane type, pilots must go through specifically structured training program for that type, known as "Initial" or "Transition" training. In order to maintain this right and to continue flying the given aircraft type, flight crews must then undergo a "Recurrent" training program, consisting of proficiency checks every 6 months. Historically, training, including bi-annual checks, is held on level D flight simulators that are housed in central hub training centers. Flight crew and airlines are required to travel to these training centers. As such, "Recurrent" training requirements alone account for the greatest percentage of an operator's training budget.

Mechtronix has developed two FFS-X configurations, each targeting distinct training objectives. The most novel one, called "Recurrent Training Machine" or Non Zero Flight Time (NZFT) targets 100% of recurrent training requirements. It offers the same fidelity at half the price of a classic Zero Flight Time platform (Level D) and can be placed in a standard building. This innovative approach allows airline companies to achieve 100% of their "Recurrent" training requirements in-house, thus eliminating the need to send flight crews off-site on a regular basis.

Mechtronix Systems' "Recurrent Training Machine" or NON ZFT defines a new niche market that will evolve to an estimated 10% of the global $1 Billion simulator market. As an anchor of the Canadian leadership in the aviation simulation industry worldwide, Mechtronix continues to lead the way in this new niche.

"The Ascent(R) FFS-X(TM), especially the Non Zero Flight Time model, represents an alternative to the existing centralized training hub approach and can significantly reduce costs associated with recurrent training," explained Fernando Petruzziello, President and CEO of Mechtronix Systems.
