Dialysis Corporation of America Opens New Virginia Facility


LINTHICUM, Md., Dec. 21, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Dialysis Corporation of America (Nasdaq:DCAI) announced the opening of a new facility in Ashland, Virginia, the company's second in the state. The company had previously announced the development of this facility in conjunction with Richmond Nephrology Associates.

Company president and CEO Stephen Everett commented, "We are excited about the addition of this center which will serve patients in the greater Richmond area. The opening of this center reflects our continuing expansion efforts in Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region as a whole, and is consistent with our strategic growth plans." The new state-of-the-art facility has been designed to enhance patient comfort and safety, and is centrally located for easy patient access and convenience. The facility has 15 patient treatment stations, as well as a peritoneal suite for patients seeking that form of dialysis treatment.

Also as previously announced, the company is in development of a new facility in the Cincinnati, Ohio area.

Dialysis Corporation of America currently owns or manages 23 freestanding kidney hemodialysis centers located in Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia, providing patients with a full range of quality in-center and at-home dialysis services, as well as providing in-hospital dialysis services on a contract basis to certain hospitals located in those states.
