CORONA, Calif., Dec. 30, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sports Pouch Beverage Company Inc. (Pink Sheets:SPBV) announced earlier in November that it had received a Request for Proposal (RFP) from the US Armed Forces, Defense Supply Center in Philadelphia, PA. Sports Pouch Beverage Co., Inc. in conjunction with its strategic partner, Source Diversified, Inc., to bid on the US Armed Forces emergency rations for pouched, sterile drinking water.
In an ongoing effort, Sports Pouch Beverage Co. is pleased to report on its progress and that Sports Pouch has been asked to submit a second submission to the US Armed Forces RFP requesting enhanced and modified packaging design elements. This new packaging design focuses on a film structure enhancement. The 3 layer design consists of a PET outer layer, aluminum middle layer, and a low density polyethylene inner layer that will provide a superior gas, light, and moisture barrier for use in extreme conditions.
In additional to the original RFP specifically for "emergency supply," the new packaging structure has the potential flexibility/interest to roll out to the MRE "Meals, Ready-to-Eat" program and the Military PX "Post Exchange" (Military Retail Stores) throughout the entire Armed Forces Network (or US Military).
