Ekwan-X Commences Nevada Mineral Exploration Program

TORONTO, Jan. 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Ekwan-X, Inc. (Pink Sheets:EKWX) is very pleased to announce that it has commence data compilation for a large-scale mineral exploration program planned for the State of Nevada. Ekwan-X will use a very sophisticated new technology known as airborne hyperspectral imaging. This technology will provide Ekwan-X with a high probability of finding a mine.

"Hyperspectral survey technology is a powerful and efficient tool. It can find as many surface minerals in a single three-day period as a team of ground-base geologists combing the same location for three years," said Ed Godin, CEO and President of Ekwan-X, Inc. "Airborne hyperspectral remote sensing technology is currently at the stage where airborne geophysics was at its breakthrough in mineral exploration. Hyperspectral remote sensing will identify new mineral deposits."

Hyperspectral imaging can collect a 2,000 ft wide by 100 mile long swath of mineralogical data in less than one hour. Within this swath there are over 22,000,000 spectral signatures, one for each 2 metre sized pixel on the earth's surface. Each mineral has a unique spectral signature as a result of its chemical and physical composition that can be distinguished by a hyperspectral sensor. Interpretation of this "airborne geochemistry" can generate high quality exploration targets rapidly and cost effectively. The high spectral resolution allows for mineral identification and maps will be generated for high probability target selection. A large number of high probability targets can be generated in a short period of time and will substantially increase the likelihood of discovering a mine.

Ekwan-X, Inc. is a mineral exploration company using hyperspectral imaging technology. Ekwan-X will concentrate its resources to fully exploit the highly mineralized areas in Nevada, New Mexico, and Arizona. The State of Nevada has been chosen for Ekwan-X's first exploration program due to the prolific gold production and recent huge gold discoveries such as the new Placer Dome discovery in the Cortez Region of Nevada.
