Photo Release -- Intelligence Foundation Appoints Northrop Grumman's Sidney Fuchs to Board of Directors


HERNDON, Va., Jan. 12, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE: NOC) Sidney E. Fuchs has been named to the Joint Military Intelligence College (JMIC) Foundation's board of directors for 2005.

The JMIC Foundation provides assistance to the Defense Intelligence Agency's Joint Military Intelligence College, which educates military and civilian intelligence professionals, and conducts and disseminates intelligence-related research.

Fuchs is president of the TASC business unit within Northrop Grumman's Information Technology sector. In his role on the JMIC Foundation board of directors, Fuchs will uphold the foundation's charter of supporting faculty and student research and writing, promoting awareness and understanding of military intelligence issues, and funding projects and events beyond those offered by the government.

In September 2002, Fuchs was nominated by the White House and received a four-year federal appointment to the Board of Visitors, National Defense University from Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld. This advisory board is chartered with providing guidance and support to the university leadership, joint chiefs-of-staff, and the secretary of defense in achieving their mission.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman in 2002, Fuchs held senior management positions in commercial product sales and consulting with Rational Software Corporation, Oracle Corporation, and Digital Equipment Corporation. Earlier, Fuchs was an intelligence officer with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), where he held operations, engineering, and management positions in the areas of field operations, intelligence collection and analysis, project management, and systems development and acquisition. Fuchs served at domestic and foreign posts, and received awards from the CIA, National Security Agency, National Reconnaissance Office, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Department of Defense.

Fuchs earned bachelor's and master's of science degrees in mechanical engineering from Louisiana State University.
