First Seek the Counsel of the Lord -- Author Reminds Readers of the Warrior They Have in God

SICKLERVILLE, N.J., Jan. 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sometimes life puts seemingly insurmountable obstacles in people's lives. They feel left alone to fight what sometimes appear to be losing battles, but in his new book, First Seek the Counsel of the Lord (now available through AuthorHouse), the Rev. Sunday T. Eke-Okoro reminds everyone that there is always a warrior fighting next to them.

"Life is full of battles. It is a struggle for survival. At times it looks as if everything has gone apart and the ground below the feet is caving in," says Eke-Okoro.

First Seek the Counsel of the Lord offers help at such times. It describes "an important principle of victory" in which Eke-Okoro says, "God fights battles for those who put their trust in him," and shows how looking upward for help means that one never has to face things alone.

"God says that you should call upon him in the day of trouble, and he will deliver you. God is true to his promises. What he says, he does," writes Eke-Okoro.

The book gleans the Scriptures and highlights the principles and creeds necessary for victory under God. Eke-Okoro provides spiritual tools to fill readers' arsenals and prepare them for the constant battles life throws at them. The author's practical application of God's words and the "centrality and indispensability of God in the achievement of good success" help people weather the storms that can knock them from the right path through life.

"The principle and creeds of victory have been tested and proved the easiest and best way of achieving victory when difficult problems confront you," Eke-Okoro says. "You will not need to fight those battles. All you need to do is take your position by utilizing the described spiritual tools."

For those wrestling with spiritual and physical quandaries, First Seek the Counsel of the Lord shows how victory can be guaranteed every time in the name of God.

A medical scientist called to "the ministry of evangelism," Eke-Okoro has come into close contact with hurting people through his medical practice and pastoral assignments. A "kingdom-minded Christian who enjoys collaborating with interfaith organizations," he is secretary of Mighty Men Interfaith Bible Study Fellowship and pastor of Jesus is Lord Baptist Church. He has written one other book, Family Love and Spousal Equity.
