An Ordinary Woman and Her Extraordinary God -- Author Shares Personal Stories of Faith, Hopes to Inspire Others

IMPERIAL, Mo., Jan. 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Virginia Smither is driven by faith. It has helped spread the message of God in the expectation of enriching people's lives. Now she reaches out to the world with her inspirational memoir, An Ordinary Woman and Her Extraordinary God (now available through AuthorHouse).

"My life is centered on helping other people find the purpose and value of their life. When they do, they gain the strength to reach out and help others around them. As long as this sequence continues to expand outward and onward, we have hope for a better world," Smither says.

Hope drives her and fuels the pages of her book. An Ordinary Woman and Her Extraordinary God is comprised of true stories from her life. Smither offers "a healthy mixture of love, joy, tears, laughter, awe and faith." Through her stories, she shares the moments that have defined her life, such as marriage, parenting, tragic death and broad missionary travels, and the way God worked through all of it.

"The true stories related in An Ordinary Woman and Her Extraordinary God dare you to be daring enough to face life and its challenges head on, without apology, do the best you can and leave the rest to God. Doing so forms the foundation for maturity, wisdom, confidence and self esteem," Smither says.

For anyone searching for miracles, meaning or newfound energy to conquer life's obstacles, An Ordinary Woman and Her Extraordinary God provides the inspiration to cause positive changes in their life.

A "true Texan," Smither is a wife, mother, grandmother, author and woman of faith. She says faith has motivated her to discover new adventures as a missionary in Africa and Australia, where she spent 20 years, and to seek further education. She holds a bachelor's degree in humanities, an associate of theology degree in Bible study and a postgraduate degree in journalism. Smither is currently employed by Joyce Meyer Ministries. An Ordinary Woman and Her Extraordinary God is her first book.
