Associated Grocers, Incorporated Announces Board of Directors for 2005


SEATTLE, Jan. 18, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- On Wednesday, January 12, 2005, Associated Grocers, Incorporated held its 70th Annual Shareholders Meeting. The Board was expanded from ten to twelve members. Seven directors are retailers, four are independent directors and one is AG's President and CEO, Robert P. Hermanns. Ron Brake was named Chair of the Board.

Retailer additions to the Board include: Ron Brake of Food Venture '87, Inc. and RELM Corporation; Jim Anderson of Brown & Cole Stores, LLC; Paul Kapioski of Cap Food Services Company; Greg Saar of Saar's, Inc.; and Mike Trask of Stanlar Foods, Inc. Returning to the Board are retail shareholders Rob Martin of Food Adventures, Inc. and Larry Nakata of Town & Country Markets, Inc. Independent Directors continuing their service on the Board include Judge George Finkle, Jack J. Gallagher, Cliff Scarbo, and Dr. Ken Viafore.
