After The Bell Market Commentary
On Tuesday, U.S. stocks ended higher to post their first consecutive gains for 2005. Buying was fueled by positive earnings reports, notably in the banking sector. Over the last two sessions, the Dow industrials have gained 122 points, or 1.2 percent. The Dow ended at its high for the session, up 70.79 points, or 0.7 percent, at 10,628.79. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 18.13 points, or 0.9 percent to 2,106.04. The Nasdaq has added nearly 1.7 percent over the last two sessions. The S&P 500 climbed 11.46 points, at 1,195.98. The S&P 500 has risen 1.6 percent in back-to-back gains.
