Tuesday the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 92.95 points or 0.90% closing at 10,461.56 while the bellwether S&P 500 increased 4.66 points or 0.40% ending the session at 1,168.41. The New York Stock Exchange volume total increased 8% from the prior session to 1.61 billion shares as big board advancers outpaced decliners 1,701 to 1,610 and there were 89 new 52-week highs and 22 new lows. The Nasdaq Composite gained 11.25 or 0.56% closing at 2,019.95 and the Nasdaq exchange's volume decreased 7% to 1.98 billion shares. On Nasdaq advancers outpaced decliners 1,663 to 1,405 with 37 new 52-week highs and 59 new lows.
