"What I am trying to convey in my book is the greatness of God's love. I believe everyone's life could be impacted from hearing its message, and I want nothing more than for people to be impacted by its central message of God's love," Shelton says.
The Devotional Tales is an inspirational book designed to invoke the warmth of God's love and bring readers closer to him. Divided into 50 separate chapters, the book provides devotions or stories that depict real situations and exhibit a certain aspect of Christian faith. Each tale is followed by self examining questions and related Scripture passages to help the reader better understand and internalize the story's message. The devotionals are written so that they can be enjoyed separately or as a whole. Each devotion builds on the one before so that it centers on the overall issue of Christian love in the modern world.
"Throughout the book, one gets a better sense of God and what he calls one to do in their life," Shelton says. "The book goes from explaining God's love to experiencing God's love to enjoying God's love to showing God's love to finally radiating God's love."
Written without any denominational influence, the book offers devotions to which the masses can relate. Some tales are emotional, some are humorous and others are sad. Some have a happy ending while others crumble in despair, but the conclusion always offers an eye opening revelation about the nature of being Christian and embracing and spreading God's love.

Shelton is a young writer who has served his church, community and school in many ways. When he was 14, his life was dramatically altered by his father's sudden death.
