ACME Communications Appoints John Conlin, Former Robertson Stephens CEO, to Board of Directors


SANTA ANA, Calif., Jan. 31, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- ACME Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:ACME) announced today the appointment of John Conlin to the Company's Board of Directors, effective February 1, 2005. Mr. Conlin fills an existing vacancy in the Board and will be included in the nominees for election at the upcoming annual stockholders meeting later this spring.

Mr. Conlin, 46, is currently serving on the Board of Advisers of the privately-owned investment banking firm Montgomery & Company, and is also on the Board of Advisers of Cannell Capital Management, a San Francisco based hedge fund. Cannell Capital, which owns approximately 8.6% of the Company's stock, is one of ACME's largest shareholders. From 2001 through 2003, Mr. Conlin served as the Chief Executive Officer of Robertson Stephens, Inc., and as Chief Operating Officer from 1999 through 2001. Prior to that, he enjoyed a 16-year career at Credit Suisse First Boston, serving in a variety of executive roles in areas such as U.S. Institutional Sales, European Equities, and European Emerging Markets.
