RJI International Plans Trade Mission to China in May 2005

ROYAL OAK, Mich., Jan. 31, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Royal Oak-based RJI International is sponsoring a trade mission to China this spring to boost opportunities for Southeastern Michigan firms eager to participate in the explosive growth of a key U.S. trading partner.

Dr. Agustin V. Arbulu C., Executive Vice President and General Counsel of RJI International, said China's growing dominance as a magnet for international investment has spurred interest among domestic firms who want to expand into this promising new market.

With offices in Royal Oak, Michigan, and Shanghai, China, RJI International represents both Chinese and U.S.-based businesses in providing international marketing, matchmaking services, logistical and strategic support. Arbulu said RJI has joined with China's largest staffing firm, FESCO, to provide support for U.S. businesses participating in the China trade mission.

"Given their huge presence in China, we are very pleased to have FESCO serve as our partner in this endeavor," Dr. Arbulu said. "We are confident their involvement will offer significant benefit to Michigan businesses selected to participate in the trade mission."

RJI said it plans to limit participation in the May trade mission to approximately a dozen qualified Michigan firms who want to assess joint ventures or cooperative arrangements with China-based businesses. Participating businesses will visit the cities of Nanjing and Shanghai to meet with their industry counterparts. Visits to additional cities may be scheduled.

Arbulu added that as developments in China continue to dominate the business news, the upcoming trip will continue the vital process of being proactive in identifying new business opportunities for domestic firms.

Arbulu said RJI has received positive feedback concerning the mission from a number of organizations, including a U.S. manufacturer, a human resources staffing firm and several educational institutions. "RJI intends to create a bridge to China for U.S. companies," Arbulu said. "We are excited that at this early stage a number of organizations are already lining up to participate in the trade mission."

Michigan-based companies interested in being considered for the trade mission should contact Dr. Arbulu at (248) 792-2066 or fax a letter of interest to (248) 282-5345.
