Welcome to Elysian Fields -- Search for Sacred Secrets Takes Writer beyond Limits of Time in New Novel

COLFAX, Calif., Feb. 3, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- "The only plan we really need is Divine Plan." These words dance through the mind of an extraordinary woman who is about to embark on a quest that will transcend all previous notions of reality. Welcome to Elysian Fields (now available through AuthorHouse), by Diana Jones, invites readers to discover the secrets waiting to be revealed on this adventure.

Sara Springtree's mother presents an intriguing offer to her daughter. She will cover all living expenses during the time it takes Sara to write a book about a certain archeological dig. The organization involved is searching for the sacred "Records of the Secret Knowledge of All Time" at the site of the Sphinx in Egypt. Sara's mother, a donor to this project, wants Sara to cover the entire expedition, including the mysteries surrounding the Records.

Sara cannot resist the mystique of such a project and immerses herself in research. Unable to find the answers she is looking for in the world around her, she realizes there is only one thing to do: Travel back in time to collect the information firsthand. Through hypnosis and past life regression, Sara enters an ethereal arena where she learns to spar with the spirits of the past and present. Her journey transforms her from researcher to "dancer on the fields of heaven."

From the first steps into shadowy worlds to the final, astounding discovery that comes to light, Welcome to Elysian Fields rolls out the red carpet for the seeker that exists in everyone.

Jones grew up on the canals of San Rafael, Calif., an avid explorer of the mountains and the bay. She studied art history at the College of Marin in California, the University of Hawaii and the University of Arizona in Tucson. After leaving school, Jones traveled through Europe with two friends for several months. Instead of photographing her experiences, she wrote them down in a journal. This inspired her true life's mission: writing. Creative writing teacher Gil Ralston, a Hollywood screenwriter, fueled her fire to continue on this path. In addition to writing and traveling, Jones owned two novelty shops in the San Francisco Bay area, and a small flower business. Her writing has taken her to Europe, Egypt and the Middle East, as well as the jungles of the Yucatan Peninsula. She finally moved to the Sierra foothills in California, where she completed Welcome to Elysian Fields, her first novel. She is currently working on the sequel.
