EMS Technologies Participating in First Annual Gwinnett/North Fulton Heart Walk

ATLANTA, Feb. 4, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG) announced today its participation in the 2005 Gwinnett/North Fulton Heart Walk presented by Gwinnett Medical Center. The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association's largest and fastest growing special event. It is a unique campaign that blends the benefits of physical activity, community involvement, and personal giving to fight the nation's number one and number three killers - cardiovascular disease and stroke.

The walk gets underway in Duluth at 9:00 a.m. Saturday. The EMS walking team comprises company employees as well as their families and friends.

"We are pleased to support the American Heart Association's efforts to reduce cardiovascular disease, while also encouraging our employees to make healthy lifestyle choices," said Al Hansen, president and CEO. Jean Mauldin, the chairperson of the 2005 Heart Walk and chief financial officer for Merial Limited, the world's leading animal health company based in Duluth, noted, "Heart disease is the No. 1 killer in the United States for both men and women. In Gwinnett County, 31% of all deaths are attributed to cardiovascular diseases including heart attacks and strokes. In addition, programs related to childhood obesity are key to future prevention. To continue its research and educational programs, the American Heart Association needs support from companies such as EMS Technologies and individuals who increase awareness through participation in events such as the Gwinnett-North Fulton Heart Walk as well as raise much needed funds."
