STOXX, Ltd. Changes the Composition of the European Benchmark Indexes

First Regular Quarterly Review to be Effective on March 21, 2005


ZURICH, Feb. 15, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- STOXX, Ltd. today announced changes in the composition of the Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 index, the Dow Jones STOXX Total Market Index, the Dow Jones STOXX 600 Index and its sector indexes, the Dow Jones EU Enlarged Total Market Index and the Dow Jones STOXX Football Index.

Effective with the open of European markets on March 21, 2005, the following six stocks will be added to the Dow Jones STOXX 600 and its respective size and sector indexes: SES Global FDR (Luxembourg, Media), SAPRR (France, Industrial Goods & Services), Maurel et Prom (France, Oil & Gas), DSV 'B' (Denmark, Industrial Goods & Services), British Energy Group (Great Britain, Utilities) and Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries (Great Britain, Travel & Leisure).

Companies exiting the index are: Amlin (Great Britain, Insurance), British Vita (Great Britain, Chemicals), Valora (Switzerland, Retail), Credit Agr Ile de France (France, Banks), Novar (Great Britain, Construction & Materials) and Kidde (Great Britain, Industrial Goods & Services).

The market sectors for the following Dow Jones STOXX 600 components will change: Peninsular & Orient Steam Navigation (Great Britain) from Travel & Leisure to Industrial Goods & Services, Amec (Great Britain) from Construction & Materials to Industrial Goods & Services, and MFI Furniture Group (Great Britain) from Personal & Household Goods to Retail.

As of January 31, 2005 the total free-float market capitalization of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX 600 increased from EUR 5024.22 billion to EUR 5029.39 billion, and of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX Total Market Index from EUR 5284.02 billion to EUR 5296.01 billion.

The Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 and the Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged Total Market Index are also part of this regular quarterly review. The new composition of the indexes can be found at http://www.stoxx.com/info/reports/2005/reviews2005.html

As of January 31, 2005 the total free-float market capitalization of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 index increased from EUR 16.19 trillion to EUR 16.29 trillion, and of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged Total Market Index increased from EUR 46.32 billion to EUR 47.11 billion.

The composition of the Dow Jones STOXX Football Index will remain unchanged. The total free-float market capitalization of the Dow Jones STOXX Football index is EUR 955.12 million.

Changes are being announced today after the conclusion of a regular quarterly component review. The adjusted component weightings, including the number of shares and free-float factors, will be announced on March 16, 2005 after close of European markets. All changes will be effective on March 21, 2005.
