Northrop Grumman Launches Unique Engineering Scholarship Program in Fairfield County, Conn.


NORWALK, Conn., Feb. 22, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Applications are now being accepted for Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) first-annual Engineering Scholars Program, which will award $20,000 in college scholarships to two Fairfield County high-school students interested in studying engineering.

"Northrop Grumman Norden Systems is pleased to sponsor this unique scholarship initiative aimed at encouraging some of the best and brightest students in Fairfield County to pursue the engineering profession," said Chineta K. Davis, Norden Systems-site vice president.

Individual $10,000 scholarships will be awarded to two qualified Fairfield County students. Candidates must plan to attend an accredited college or university as a full-time student in an approved engineering program. The funds may be used for tuition, books, lodging and meals.

Applicants must be residents of Fairfield County and a graduating senior in the spring of 2005 from a public or accredited private high school in the state with a minimum composite SAT score of 1100 and a minimum GPA of 3.5 (grades 9-12). The application deadline is March 31, 2005.
