Wednesday, February 23, 2005 StockPickReport Commentary

"Tuesday, February 22, 2005: Great Day!!!"

The market gave you an incredible set-up last week to profit in a downslide. Tuesday's action was just wonderful for shorts, folks who sold covered calls, and folks who sold puts on stocks they wanted at cheaper prices.

If you've followed our commentary for the last week you got the "news" early: The market was about to tank.

I mean, y'all all "sold short", right? You all raised stop/losses, right? You sold calls on your stock, right? You sold puts, right?

Hey, don't worry if you didn't do any of those things. Statistically, it's not likely that you would have the sort of strategies in place to guard your portfolio from losses, or profit in a market down turn. So, you're not alone if you didn't (or don't) take the sort of steps we outline in our commentary.

But, "not being alone" is not as enjoyable as "sleeping easy." It's not the same as "saving money." It's entirely different from "profiting when others lose."

I don't mind being alone. By "being alone," I mean, "taking steps to guard my interests that may not be 'mainstream.'"

The issues we brought up last fall continue to haunt the market:

 1. Weak US Dollar
 2. High Oil Prices
 3. Rising Inflation
 4. Outsourcing American Jobs to Other Countries
 5. The "war" in Iraq
 6. The US Debt
 7. Gold (and other commodities) on the Rise
 8. Insanely Valued Tech Stocks
 9. ...etc...

HOLD ON, though. We are not telling you to get out of the market. We are telling you to:

 1. Sell short
 2. Sell calls
 3. Sell puts
 4. Raise Stop/Losses

Don't be ruled by fear or greed. Allow the steps we outline day in and day out to give you an ADVANTAGE. If all you do is stop losing in a down turn, that is a VICTORY.

And, VICTORIES are good. Whatever you do, do NOT get down after a day like Tuesday.

THAT gives power to MAINSTREAM WALLSTREET.

Don't get down. Be happy. YOU SAW IT COMING. That's the first step to taking action.

So, I say, cheer a day like Tuesday, February 22, 2005. That's a day we all need to remind us why we swim against the tide of sewage called, "mainstream wallstreet."

Oh, and, yes, we think more downside potential exists.

That means MORE MONEY for those who are willing to reach out and grab it.
