Super Bowl Emergency Operations Relied On E Team To Protect Region In Case Of Emergency Or Disaster

Jacksonville selected E Team based on proven experience managing other large events

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 28, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- E Team, Inc., the leading provider of collaborative software for crisis management, today announced that the City of Jacksonville's Emergency Preparedness Division deployed E Team's software to protect the region in case of an emergency or disaster during the 2005 Super Bowl events.

"We selected E Team because of its proven success and unmatched experience managing other large scale events, including three Super Bowls and the Summer and Winter Olympics," said Chip Patterson, emergency preparedness chief for the City of Jacksonville. "With E Team, we could be sure that we had the infrastructure in place to protect the citizens of Jacksonville and the more than 150,000 visitors attending Super Bowl festivities in case of a large scale emergency."

E Team's crisis management solution enabled Jacksonville's emergency management staff to connect and have access to the 20 agencies involved with securing the Super Bowl, including the Marine Operations Center and the joint operations center run by the FBI. Prior to the Super Bowl, E Team's experts worked closely with the City of Jacksonville to prepare for the week-long schedule of events including: determining the best operational approaches, based on what had been used successfully at other large-scale events, and what specific functionality the Jacksonville EOC would need in case of regional attack or disaster; training EOC personnel on event-specific activities and scenarios; and loading Super Bowl information, including event schedules and follow-on activities, into E Team's crisis management solution.

"The greatest value of E Team's software was its ability to provide us with an accurate and complete picture of the entire event in real time so we knew we were prepared for any possible scenario," said Patterson. "In addition, the knowledge and skills the E Team experts brought to the operations center before, during, and after the event were outstanding."

E Team's collaborative platform provides crisis managers with immediate access to critical information in real time and connects multiple agencies and joint operations centers at a local and national level, enabling the highest level of communication and information exchange possible during large scale emergencies. The highly robust, browser-based E Team incident management solution enables customers to effectively prepare for, respond to and recover from large scale emergencies, disasters, and planned events. In addition to three Super Bowls and the Olympics, E Team has successfully managed many other high profile planned events such as the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, 2005 Presidential Inauguration, 2004 G8 Summit, and many large-scale emergencies and disasters including Hurricanes Charley, Frances, and Ivan; New York City's response to 9/11; and Arizona and California wildfires.

"We are honored that E Team was chosen to help protect the Jacksonville region during the Super Bowl festivities," said John Tullie, E Team's president and CEO. "E Team's software is uniquely qualified to manage events of this size because it was developed by emergency managers to provide a collaborative, interactive enterprise-class solution for securely managing and responding to all planned and unplanned events."
