STOXX Ltd. Wins Survey-Based Award For Creating The Most Useful Exchange-Traded Fund Indexes In Europe


ZURICH, March 8, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- STOXX Ltd., the leading European index provider, today announced that it has won the award, "Index provider that has created the most useful ETF indexes in Europe." The award is based on a survey that was conducted among global market participants from early January through early February 2005 by the U.K.-based magazine International Fund Investment, in cooperation with www.etf.com.

Among the 114 different organizations that participated in the survey-were institutional investors, investors in exchange-traded funds and organizations involved in the industry such as issuers and exchanges. Thirty-seven percent (37%) of the polled organizations are based in Europe, 18% in the Asia-Pacific region and 45% in the Americas.
