EMS Technologies Announces Appointment Of John Dunbar As Chief Information Officer


ATLANTA, March 9, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG) announced today the appointment of John Dunbar to the position of Chief Information Officer, reporting to President and CEO Al Hansen.

Dunbar will be responsible for implementing a new Information Technology (IT) vision for EMS, including overseeing strategic planning, implementation, and management of IT functions globally. He brings more than 17 years' experience in IT management and strategic business planning to the position. He joined EMS in December 2003 as Director of IT, where he restructured the IT department for improved efficiency and effectiveness, led the creation of an IT Disaster Recovery Plan covering all EMS locations, and established processes and controls for regulatory compliance as well as general IT best practices.

"As CIO, John will ensure that EMS's Information Technology organization plays a strategic role with all EMS divisions globally, so we can leverage IT solutions to our competitive advantage," comments Hansen.

Prior to joining EMS, Dunbar was the Global IT director for BTG Group, a Switzerland-based global manufacturer and distributor of components for the pulp and paper industry, where he established the company's technology strategy to align with the business strategy as groundwork for continuous international expansion.

Dunbar has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Florida State University and a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University.
