Wavestream Corporation Appoints Gary Echo to Vice President of Business Development

SAN DIMAS, Calif., March 15, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Wavestream Corporation (www.wavestreamcorp.com), a provider of innovative power amplifier solutions for today's complex communications and sensing systems, announced the appointment of Gary Echo to vice president of business development. This appointment further strengthens the company's management team and fuels its drive into the military and commercial satellite communications industries.

Echo's career in satellite communications provides him with the strong background this position requires. Previously, Echo was director of product marketing and general manager of Mexico operations for Tachyon, Inc., a pioneer in IP-based satellite networking. At Tachyon he was responsible for the company's worldwide product marketing and overseeing operations in Mexico. He also served as director of business development for a leading provider of satellite-based rural telephony, Titan Wireless. Prior to that he played a key role in the development of leading-edge military and commercial satellite communication systems at ViaSat, Inc.

Echo holds both a Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Rice University.

"Wavestream's growth as a provider of high performance solid-state amplifiers in the satellite communications market will take full advantage of Gary Echo's extensive engineering and business development background," said Chris Branscum, CEO of Wavestream. "The addition of Gary strengthens our team and positions the company to fully address both the commercial and military satcom markets."

In addition to strengthening its management team, the company has made significant progress in the development of its PowerStream solid-state power amplifiers, using ground-breaking spatial power combining technology to fit big power amplifiers into small waveguide packages. Wavestream's products eliminate much of the loss seen in conventional solid-state power amplifiers to provide very high efficiency for Ka- and Ku-band communications. The company's future plans are to expand its technology to reach beyond Ka- and Ku-band frequencies, enabling additional advancements in communications and sensing systems.
