CARSON CITY, Nev., March 23, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Gateway Access Solutions (Pink Sheets:GWYA) has agreed to terms for funding with Anchor Bay Corporation of Denver Colo. David Wiesner, a principal in Anchor Bay Corporation, is also an outside director of GWYA and one of the company's largest shareholders. Mr. Wiesner states "that seeing the increasing demand for high quality, competitively priced products such as GWYA has to offer in its proprietary markets is exceptionally encouraging for the future success of the company."
The funds are for specific infrastructure expansion in GWYA's existing markets in NM and PA. GWYA's largest customer in PA, Geisinger Health Care Systems, has increased its needs for additional services requiring GWYA to expand its current infrastructure in Danville, Wilkes-Barre and Scranton PA.
The company's early success in other markets it owns frequencies, such as the Albuquerque NM market necessitates expanding the infrastructure there as well.
Using these licensed frequencies and wireless deployment, broadband can be delivered at significantly lower costs and faster deployment speeds than competing technologies, such as DSL or cable modem. Moreover, in rural areas where ISDN, cable and DSL solutions are not available due largely to range limitations and the high infrastructure costs of the "major players," Gateway Access Solutions' proprietary spectrum may be the only economically viable solution to provide quality broadband service.
