ARLINGTON, Va., March 23, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has established a Corporate Business Development organization and has appointed David W. Zolet as vice president of Corporate Business Development. The newly created position reports to Robert W. Helm, Northrop Grumman corporate vice president of Business Development and Government Relations. Zolet's organization will be headquartered in Northrop Grumman's Washington, D.C., office.

Zolet most recently served as vice president, Homeland Security, an enterprise-wide function headquartered within Northrop Grumman's Information Technology sector. Zolet was responsible for homeland security-related solutions and business development across the corporation.

Prior to his homeland security role, Zolet was vice president and general manager of the Civil Systems Division in the company's Mission Systems sector.

Zolet has more than two decades of experience in engineering, strategic planning, business development, government relations and program management. He joined

Northrop Grumman as a TRW employee in 1983; TRW was acquired by Northrop Grumman in 2002.

Zolet earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in electrical engineering from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, followed by a master's degree in business administration from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.
