NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., March 24, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- A raft of cool silent auction items await guests reveling in the sultry South Beach atmosphere of White Haute Nights, the Junior League of Orange County, California, Inc., (JLOCC) Spring Fundraiser set for Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the Balboa Bay Club & Resort.
While sipping Caribbean cocktails, guests can place their bids on a mountain getaway including a condo in Mammoth, four lift tickets and a one-week Land Rover rental; a David Yurman sterling-silver bracelet set with pearls and diamonds; and a two-night stay in a Balboa Bay Club suite. A private tour and lunch for four at Gallo of Sonoma Winery, a large-screen television, $3,000 worth of beauty treatments, and gift certificates to restaurants such as CapriBlu Ristorante and Villa Nova will also be among the many choices.
An opportunity drawing is being held for a Fiji vacation for two including a six-night, seven-day stay at the Sofitel Resort & Spa and airfare donated from FijiVacations.com. Tickets are priced at $50 each, or $100 for three tickets. They are being offered for sale at White Haute Nights. According to event chair Lori Wagner, White Haute Nights will transform the Newport Beach resort into what is sure to be the hottest event in Orange County. The evening's entertaining options include gambling at Latin-style Casino tables, smoking cigars in the salty beach air, and dancing the night away during an event that could double as an exciting tropical vacation.
Revelers at a special outdoor VIP party can kick off the night early to watch the sun go down. The reception's mood will be set with live music performed by a Steel Drum Band, courtesy of Alvaron Entertainment. Tarot card readings and cigar-rolling demonstrations will also take place under the stars. Guests will dine on sumptuous Cuban-themed cuisine and enjoy beverages from sponsors Gallo Winery, Miller Brewing Company and Grey Goose Vodka.
The Junior League of Orange County, California, Inc., is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. White Haute Nights, this year's Spring Fundraiser, will support community programs and projects sponsored by the JLOCC to benefit the Orange County community.
Funds raised by the event will benefit YMCA of Orange County, Laura's House, Canyon Acres Children's Services, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Impact Orange County, Orangewood Foundation Bear Hugs, Community Grants Program and Youth Scholarships.
The White Haute Nights VIP Party starts at 6 p.m. VIP tickets are $130. The main event will be held 7 p.m. - 11 p.m., and tickets are available for $100 each. Suggested attire is South Beach chic.
