LOS ANGELES, April 8, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named Richard P. Van Rees corporate lead executive for company business in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

As corporate lead executive, Van Rees will be responsible for leading the customer-focused business strategy and approach for its work in the greater Fort Walton Beach area. In addition, he will serve as the principal corporate point of contact for all Northrop Grumman business in this region. He will provide communication, leadership and coordination between the company's employees and customers in the area.

Van Rees is also director of the systems and software integration division within Northrop Grumman's Information Technology sector. The division's primary client base is in the Fort Walton Beach area.

"Dick has a distinguished Air Force and robust defense-industry background, which make him ideally suited to lead the company's efforts in Fort Walton Beach," said Bob Helm, corporate vice president of Business Development and Government Relations. "His knowledge of our customer base in the region will ensure their programs with us are executed at the highest level of satisfaction."

Van Rees is a retired U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, and served at all levels of command. He was a test pilot in the mid 1980s and directed two joint test and evaluations chartered by the office of the U.S. Secretary of Defense.

After 29 years in the Air Force, Van Rees worked for FedEx Corp., The Boeing Company, Sverdup Corp., and Scientific Research Corporation before coming to Northrop Grumman earlier this year.

Van Rees earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Colgate University, Hamilton, N.Y., and a master's degree in business administration from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

He is a member of the Air Force Association, the Association of Old Crows, the National Defense Industrial Association, and the Daedalian Association.
