PHOENIX, April 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Franchise Capital Corporation (OTCBB:FCCN) today announced that Kokopelli Mexican Grill Franchise Company, LLC has modified the name of its Kokopelli restaurant to "Kokopelli Sonoran Grill" in order to more accurately reflect the Sonoran influence on its menu. The signage and other materials for the Phoenix Kokopelli location scheduled to open this week reflects the new Kokopelli name.
"This change was made to differentiate Kokopelli Sonoran Grill the myriad of 'Mexican Grills' that are out there, from regional chains to individual local restaurants. There are many characteristics that separate Kokopelli from any potential competitors, not the least of which is the quality of its food, but from a marketing perspective, the Kokopelli management team decided that adjusting the name would make the difference more clear in the minds of our customers," commented Bradford Miller, Chief Executive Officer of Franchise Capital Corporation.
Kokopelli's menu reflects not only the diversity of the Sonoran region, which stretches from the coast of Baja California to deserts and into mountainous regions in the United States and Mexico, but it also incorporates traditional Sonoran style cooking in its use of peppers, such as Chipotle, as seasonings and the presence of unique ingredients like citrus fruits and mangos in many dishes.
Kokopelli is opening its first Kokopelli Sonoran Grill this week in Glendale, Arizona, just outside of Phoenix. It is the first of up to 15 Kokopelli restaurants currently planned to open in the Phoenix market and among over 30 planned across the United States. Additional franchise development deals for Kokopelli are expected in targeted markets from coast-to-coast in the coming years.
