New SWE-DISH Suitcase with Integrated iDirect Modem

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, April 12, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Mobile remote data communication gets easier as a new SWE-DISH Suitcase gets integrated iDirect modem for bandwidth sharing.

The SWE-DISH IPT-i Mil Suitcase is a new addition to the Suitcase family. It builds on the proven IPT Suitcase, but comes equipped with an integrated modem from iDirect Technologies. The integrated iDirect modem allows data rates up to 4.2 Mbps and opens up for advanced bandwidth sharing.

Bandwidth sharing using the iDirect standard radically decreases the bandwidth cost. Through one of the industry's most efficient bandwidth management technology the system can, in many cases, offer more than a 50% improved bandwidth performance over traditional solutions. In addition, the network set-up is flexible and straightforward. The IPT-i Mil Suitcase weights only 39 kg and comes with several aids to make operation easy, e.g. GPS, inbuilt compass, browser-based step by step set-up wizard and satellite auto-acquisition.

Lars Jehrlander, CEO at SWE-DISH, says, "Integrating the two makes for a highly mobile, easy-to-use broadband satellite terminal for data communication."

The IPT-i Suitcase is tailored for cost efficient data communication, e.g. internet traffic, ftp, as well as voice over IP (VoIP) from remote or temporary locations. Typical users are military units, rescue agencies, relief organizations, as well as broadcasters -- all organizations that quickly must arrange data communication independent of fixed infrastructure.

Warren A. Brown, Vice President of Marketing, at iDirect Technologies says, "The iDirect equipment is flexible and easy-to-use. We strive to make the total solution as versatile and simple as possible for the user. In that regard, the Suitcase is perfect as a node."

Lars Jehrlander, concludes "We know that there is a strong demand for the combination. We have developed the IPT-i Mil Suitcase in close cooperation with our user community to meet both their near term and their future needs."
