Emulex Promotes 4Gb/s Technology Leadership and New Easy-to-Use SAN Installation Tools at SNW Spring 2005

Company Also Showcases the First Live Demonstration of SATA Tunneling Over Fibre Channel technology, which is Now Accepted by the ANSI T11 Committee for Standardization

PHOENIX, April 12, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Storage Networking World, Booth No. P21 -- Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX), the industry's preeminent source for a broad range of advanced storage networking infrastructure solutions, will demonstrate a broad spectrum of new storage technologies at Storage Networking World (SNW) Spring 2005, April 12-15 in Phoenix, Arizona. Emulex has teamed with industry leaders such as Brocade, Engenio, IBM, Microsoft, and Seagate to showcase new and innovative solutions that will extend storage networking to new users and markets. In its booth (No. P21), Emulex offers SNW attendees a glimpse of its broad range of next generation connectivity and management solutions, including the Company's first live demonstration of Emulex's 4Gb/s PCI Express HBA solutions in conjunction with its Enterprise AutoPilot Installer management wizard.

Also being showcased in the Emulex booth is a live demonstration of SATA Tunneling over Fibre Channel technology, which Emulex developed and proposed to ANSI's T11 Committee for inclusion into the Fibre Channel protocol as an industry standard. Last week, ANSI's T11 Committee accepted the standards proposal and will begin formation of a working group next month. SATA Tunneling Over Fibre Channel enables attachment of low cost SATA disk drives into embedded Fibre Channel-based storage systems, which protects customers' existing Fibre Channel investments and enables customers to incorporate SATA disk drives to lower system costs.
