After The Bell Market Commentary
On Tuesday, shares of asbestos related companies rallied as Senators neared an agreement to end asbestos liability lawsuits. In exchange, injured workers would be paid from a $140 billion trust funded by the industry. The markets recovered to close higher as oil prices dropped to $51.86 a barrel and the Federal Reserve indicated that rate hikes would be kept to a minimum. The Dow rose 59 points to 10,508 while Nasdaq gained 13 points to 2,005. The S & P 500 was up 6.55 points at 1,187.76. The Russell 2000 was up 5.86 at 613.03.
