WHAT: Inman Park 34th Annual Spring Festival - Tour of Homes: Atlanta's eclectic and revered Inman Park Spring Festival will happen Friday, April 22, through Sunday, April 24, offering food, music, fun, the city's largest street market, its most outrageous parade, and a home tour that includes Victorian-era treasures and contemporary gems. Mark the calendar ... this is Atlanta's best block party! Don't miss it. WHEN: Friday through Sunday, April 22-24, 2005 WHERE: Founded in 1889 just two miles from downtown Atlanta, historic Inman Park is the city's oldest suburb. After periods of decline culminating in the 1950s, Inman Park was restored by a group of dedicated residents, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. WHO: Sponsored by the Inman Park Neighborhood Association (IPNA) - the non-profit association established in the early 1970s - to raise funds for local schools, theaters, security, and to contribute to the development of Atlanta's Freedom Park, along with neighborhood improvement and beautification projects. HIGHLIGHTS: -- Atlanta's largest Street Market, offering antique furniture to handcrafted wares. -- A juried Arts and Crafts Show, including some of the southeast's finest artists. -- The city's quirkiest and most colorful Parade, led by the Inman Park Butterfly, followed by floats, bands, art cars, politicians, drill teams, Kelly's Seed and Feed Marching Abominables, clowns, jugglers, and many more, closed by the Inman Park Trash Queen, riding aloft her royal throne, a city street sweeper. -- This year's Parade Grand Marshal is Councilwoman Debi Starnes. -- The centerpiece of the Festival, the Tour of Homes, featuring elegant, turn-of-the-century Victorian homes, Craftsman bungalows, original contemporary designs and modern interpretations of traditional styles.
