EMS Technologies Appoints Mike Fatig VP, Business Development, Defense & Space Systems


ATLANTA, April 14, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG) announced today the appointment of Mike Fatig as vice president of Business Development in the Defense & Space Systems (D&SS) Division, effective immediately.

Reporting to Jay Grove, senior vice president and general manager, D&SS, Fatig will lead the organization's growth efforts in U.S. military defense electronics and space-electronics markets. "We welcome Mike's talent, energy, industry knowledge, and process-improvement leadership in support of Defense & Space Systems' growth objectives," said Grove.

Fatig's 27-year career in the defense and space market has spanned technical, program management, sales, and business leadership areas. Prior to joining EMS, Fatig worked for Honeywell, a diversified technology and manufacturing leader of aerospace products and services. He began in the Honeywell technical ranks in 1978. For the past four years, Fatig served as director of Sales for Honeywell's space digital electronics, guidance and navigation, and pointing and momentum-control systems within Defense and Space Electronic Systems. During that period, the business booked over $930 million in orders and expanded into new market segments. Fatig also served as director of Space Services at Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc. (HTSI) in Columbia, Md.

Fatig has a Bachelor of Science in Technology Management and a Master of Science in International Business from the University of Maryland. He is a member of the American Astronautical Society and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. A strong proponent of education, Fatig has received the NASA Public Service Medal and five NASA Group Achievement Awards as well as a Governor's Citation for support to education. He also founded and is currently honorary executive director of the Cooperative Satellite Learning Project.
