CERRITOS, Calif., April 14, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Mass Connections(r), the nation's industry leader in retail marketing services and consumer related promotions, has received thousands of positive responses from troops abroad for their "Connecting with Our Soldiers" postcard campaign.
The campaign, which began on July 4th of 2004, has reached hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops in harm's way. Consumers visiting their local participating retailer receive a gift of postcards, giving an opportunity for consumers to easily reach out and thank the soldiers for their sacrifice. Mass Connections then collects and sends the cards to the front line troops.
In response, soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan have written Mass Connections to thank them for their messages. Mass Connections doesn't stop with the postcard, but responds again by sending care packages to those troops. This effort was recently recognized by General Richard B. Myers, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff:

A Marine Huey Cobra pilot, who received letters and follow-up packages from Mass Connections had this to say: "Upon my return (from a mission) there was over 30 packages and close to over 100 letters waiting for me. I set out the letters. At first I did not think that there was any chance that all the goods sent would be used; my mistake, by the time the dinner crowd of Marines passed through there only a couple items remained. Everyday since then about 20 Marines a day have been thanking me for the packages."
