Blyth, Inc. Comments on Fiscal 2006 Full-Year Outlook

GREENWICH, Conn., April 19, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Blyth, Inc. (NYSE:BTH), a leading designer and marketer of home fragrance and home decor products, today announced that, based on management's expectations at this time, Earnings Per Share for the fiscal year ending January 31, 2006 are expected to be between $2.20 and $2.25. Management's previously issued E.P.S. guidance was $2.35 to $2.40 for the full year. The new estimate reflects lower than expected sales and earnings for the first quarter, due primarily to weakness in the North American Direct Selling segment markets. These markets are experiencing increased party-plan channel competition and fewer active independent consultants than last year's first quarter.

On Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at 10 a.m. eastern standard time, Blyth, Inc. will conduct a conference call to review the results for the first quarter ending April 30, 2005.
