Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. Demonstrates Products to Major Lamp Manufacturers

BOULDER, Colo., April 26, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- During a recent trip to Lightfair International 2005, Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. (Pink Sheets:ENYC), a landmark technology company ("Econ"), demonstrated its electronic ballasts for HID lamps to major lamp manufactures.

The world's largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference was held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City from April 10th to the 14th. More than 650 national and international lighting related companies and over 20,000 attendees participated in this trade show, including such major lighting manufacturers as General Electric, Philips Lighting, Osram/Sylvania and their senior management and marketing personnel.

As a part of its marketing strategy, Econ prearranged informal demonstrations of its electronic HID ballasts to representatives of major manufacturers of HID lamps in one of the Lighting International official hotels in New York City. The primary objectives were to create interest and establish direct communications with major HID lamp manufacturers without the need for divulging, at this time, proprietary technical information.

Product demonstrations involved Econ's electronic ballasts for commercially available 250W High Pressure Sodium and Pulse Start Metal Halide lamps including ballasts for Osram/Sylvania's new "Powerball" 320/250/150W lamps. All demonstrations included smooth ignitions and operations of lamps, energy savings and dimming features. Econ's ballasts performed exceedingly well as it was evident from such comments as "impressive" and "exciting."

Product demonstrations were followed by informal business discussions. During these discussions it was agreed upon that after receiving certain lamp information from lamp manufacturers, Econ would submit its product to the lamp manufacturers for their testing and evaluations.

Fazle Quazi, Chairman of the Board, commented "The rapid moving Mexico venture and now the invitation for testing our products by lamp manufacturers are positive steps towards achieving our primary business goals. This is a very exciting time for our Company and its shareholders."

About Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc.

Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. holds a patent for ``Control Circuit for power factor corrected electronic ballasts and power supplies,'' patent No: 6,359,395, granted on March 19, 2002 developed by its founder, Fazle Quazi. The current patent covers power factor corrections and controlling energy into bulbs and power supplies such as: computer servers, copy machines, compact fluorescent lamps, power supplies to the telecom industry, inverters used to convert DC power to AC power (120 Volts), automobiles specialty lighting, solar and wind power generators, and fuel cells.

New patent applications involving the lighting industry are now being drafted after extensive testing and will be submitted throughout 2005. These new designs will revolutionize the HID lighting industry, annually a $2 billion dollar market in the United States and over $10 billion on an international basis. Econ's HID electronic ballasts will be available at costs comparable to magnetic ballasts, reducing ballast weight by a factor of 10 and saving an estimated 35 percent of electrical energy over magnetic ballast usage. Econ has begun development of electronic ballasts for the new high-wattage compact fluorescent bulbs, scaling down its existing designs for this purpose. Econ is committed to keep its technology on the cutting edge of both the HID electronic ballast world and emerging developments for high power compact electronic fluorescent bulbs that will replace incandescent bulbs and in some cases HID bulbs used for flood lighting, gymnasiums, high ceiling applications and specialty and architectural lighting.

Discussions are now in progress with a major lighting manufacturer in Mexico regarding licensing our patents and future patent filings.
